You don’t “catch” them. You refer the relivent data to the FBI. The people that are conducting scams are the tip of the iceberg: They associate with much darker evil. Don’t fuck with criminals. You are not a crime-fighting-superhero/detective. But, you can be a victim very quickly and easily.
If you are wanting to simply avoid them: block those that attempt scams and report them. If you are asking how to do that… There are whole books on detecting scams.
